Politics as Usual?
2010 Annual Luncheon
Beverly Hills Hotel

A lively crowd gathered in the Crystal Room at the Beverly Hills Hotel to attend the Women’s Guild 2010 annual luncheon on February 17.

President Judy Briskin welcomed the group and announced that the organization had passed the $15 million mark toward a pledge of $20 million for the Women’s Guild Lung Institute. She then presented a $1 million check to Art Ochoa.

A surprised and delighted Geri Brawerman was presented with the Evelyn Clayburgh Award for her longtime generosity and service to Women’s Guild.

The luncheon marked the conclusion of four years in office as president for Judy Briskin. Past President Vera Guerin introduced the new members and officers and the incoming president, Lorette Gross. As a parting gift from Women’s Guild, Lorette presented Judy with a commemorative crystal gavel.

Guests were treated to a program entitled “Politics as Usual?” with nationally known political strategists (and friendly rivals) Bob Shrum, Democrat, and Mike Murphy, Republican. Moderating the discussion was Marylouise Oates (Mrs. Shrum), formerly a columnist for the Los Angeles Times. An animated question-and-answer session followed the program.

Luncheon Co-chairs Gina Furth and Hella Hershson were assisted by Alice Vidor and Linda Zale (creative decor), Abby Levy, Georgina Rothenberg, and Barbara Belzberg.
