Diamond Jubilee Luncheon Marks Major Giving Milestone
Women’s Guild celebrated its 60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Luncheon at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Nov. 8. Emceed by Carrie Ann Inaba, the event attracted more than 500 members and guests, who lauded the completion of a major milestone—the $10 million campaign pledge toward the Women’s Guild Simulation Center for Advanced Clinical Skills.
During the luncheon, esteemed filmmakers and mother-daughter duo Nancy Meyers and Hallie Meyers-Shyer were also presented with Woman of Achievement awards by Academy Award-winning actress Diane Keaton. Meyers and Meyers-Shyer join the ranks of past recipients including Donna Karan, Julie Chen, Natalie Morales, Victoria Reggie Kennedy and Judge Judy Sheindlin.

“We’re so proud of our accomplishments we’re not even going to lie about our age. Women’s Guild is the big 6-0—and we look fabulous,” Women’s Guild President Shelley Cooper said. “Five years ago, we set our sights on one of our boldest and most spectacular goals in Women’s Guild history—raise a staggering $10 million in five years to fund the Women’s Guild Simulation Center for Advanced Clinical Skills. I’m thrilled to announce we crushed it. We fulfilled our mission.”

Not only was the goal accomplished ahead of schedule, but it was also surpassed by $1.5 million thanks to an anonymous gift and a grant from the Annenberg Foundation.
The afternoon concluded with a fashion show by St. John featuring looks from its Resort 2019 collection
