New Members Get Insider Tour

Women’s Guild newest members received a special tour of the Medical Center in April 2013. They began by seeing the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit and observed the hospital’s interstitial space — the “floor between floors” where guided robotic vehicles can efficiently and unobtrusively move items such as laundry and food throughout the facility.

Next, the new members met Deane Wolcott, MD, director of Oncology Supportive Care Services, for a presentation about the impact of psychosocial research on breast cancer. Guests were also given a demonstration of a new Women’s Guild-funded iPad®-based screening tool used at the Brandman Breast Center.

The visit continued with a tour of the Pulmonary-Women’s Guild Lung Institute Suite and Women’s Guild Donor Wall. Allison Druyanoff and Alison Greenberg co-chaired the event.
